Beyond Self-Care: Addressing Burnout in Nonprofit Fundraising is an interactive learning session designed for both fundraising employees and leaders. This presentation explores the difference between stress and burnout, introduces Maslach’s Burnout Inventory and the Job Demands-Resources Model, and highlights why self-care alone isn’t enough to prevent burnout. Attendees will learn about neurobiological regulation, the importance of rest versus rejuvenation, practical in-the-moment coping tools, and how aligning work with individual strengths can foster sustainability. Leaders will leave with actionable strategies to reduce urgency culture, balance demands and resources, and create healthier organizational practices that support fundraisers' well-being and long-term success.
